Jane Austen Ball with the UCLA Historical Dance Society

Last month, I went to my first Jane Austen Ball at UCLA, with the Historical Dance Society, my very first Jane Austen Ball. I enjoyed the professor that gave  the lecture on how to dance in the Regency Period. They have a drum every month in Culver City, for more information go Regency Friends. A drum is the term they used in the regency period for ball or dance. John, the Dance Teacher, also gave lecture on the etiquette, manners and customs of Regency England.

The ladies wore beautiful Empire waist gowns with black satin gloves and had their hair down in ringlets.
